Foot Print Introductions

Description: This is a good introduction activity for the students to get to know me as their teacher and for me as the teacher to get to know my students. This activity needs to use three different types of medium, for example: magazine, colors, markers, paints ect... What the students will put on their footprint is their favorite hobbies, favorite food, their family, activities they enjoy doing, they just need to include things that they enjoy doing.
The symbols that I used: Tree- favorite holiday is Christmas, fruit- is favorite snack, books- I love to read, SD- where I am from, volleyball- favorite sport, shoe- I love to go on walks, little people- my family, horse- I used to rodeo, shoe and pumpkin- my favorite movie and northern- where I went to college.
Medium that I used- crayons, markers and construction paper.

Extension Activity:

A good extension activity would you could have the students make one these when you are introducing characters in a book, so if you are starting a new chapter book in the beginning when you are introducing the new character the students and throughout the book when you figure out important characteristics of that character, the students will add new details on their footprint for that character. Then at the end of the book the students will present their footprint to the class.
