chameleon

For this activity, you need a jelly plate, paper, paint, and a roller. First, you take a jelly plate, add a little bit of paint, and roll it on the plate. Then, you put a design into the jelly plate, take your paper, set it on the jelly plate, and roll the paper onto it. Then you remove the paper from the jelly plate to reveal your design. After you have all your paper, you take the stencils and cut out the pieces for the chameleon, you piece together the chameleon and then glue it down. The last step is to draw on the eyes, tongue, and the four legs.
Extension activity: A good extension activity for this lesson would be to have the students write a short story or tell a short story about an adventure the chameleon might go on and how the chameleon changes color. The students could talk about how each pattern represents a different place that the chameleon might have gone on.
